Paul Armer’s debut EP ‘Far From Town’ was recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Stuart Welsh in Beliefspace Studio, Plymouth. Released on the 22nd June 2016, the 5 track EP elaborates upon experiences of ‘isolation and hardship’ with the addition of ‘fast- paced punk riffs’.
Paul began playing acoustically in 2014, but it was not until mid 2015 that he began to find his current sound. His music has been described by his audience as ‘Country Punk’, with a voice that is both ‘totally unique and yet reminds you of the Greenwich Village era Bob Dylan’. His influences include: The Gaslight Anthem, Bruce Springsteen, The Flatliners, Social Distortion, and Bob Dylan.
‘Far From Town’ is written from a very personal perspective about a longing to escape and the reasons behind this. Paul says, “The songs on my EP are based upon the core emotions of love, anger, and sorrow, including the good and the bad that comes with them. I want to write songs that are honest and capture real emotions. I hope that in some way my songs will resonate with people.”
